OUR STORY
Why LYLVA exists.
I've worn solid gold jewellery my whole life. It's how I was raised — the understanding that if you're going to spend money on jewellery, you buy real gold. Something you can wear every day, pass down, and sell back if you ever need to.
When I started looking for that in the UK, I couldn't find it. Not at a price that made sense. The market was full of 9ct — which is technically gold, but only 37.5% of it actually is — or designer prices that put 18ct completely out of reach for most people.
I started LYLVA to change that. I've lived in the UK since I was 12, and I wanted to bring something I'd always known — that solid gold is for every day, not just special occasions — to a market that had largely forgotten it. Every piece we make is 18ct solid gold, independently hallmarked, and priced so that buying real gold doesn't have to feel like a once-in-a-decade decision.
WHY 18CT?
Not all gold is equal.
The UK jewellery market is full of 9ct gold — which is only 37.5% pure gold. It tarnishes more easily, can irritate sensitive skin, and holds far less intrinsic value over time.
18ct gold is 75% pure. It wears better, lasts longer, looks richer, and holds its worth in a way that lower carats simply cannot. It is the standard that most of the world considers the baseline for fine jewellery — and the standard we refuse to fall below.
Every LYLVA piece is independently hallmarked in the UK, carrying our maker's mark (LYL), the 750 purity stamp, and the Assay Office verification. This is not a claim — it is a legal guarantee you can see on every piece you own.
RESALE VALUE
Something beautiful that holds its worth.
Solid gold rises in value over time. Unlike silver, gemstones, or plated metals, 18ct gold can always be sold back — to a jeweller, a gold buyer, or privately — based on its weight and the live gold price.
This is the reason generations of families have always bought solid gold over costume jewellery. A piece bought twenty years ago still has real, calculable worth today. A piece bought last year has likely already increased in value.
